FILIGREE ENSEMBLE

Saturday, FEBRUARY 21, 2025 in Lincoln, MA

Tickets $40

Founded in 2022 by soprano Christina Kay and mezzo-soprano Kimberly Leeds, Filigree Ensemble enriches modern historical performance by pushing the boundaries of improvised ornamentation, rhetorical drama, and creative programming to reshape the modern concert experience. In addition to enlivening music from past eras, Filigree blurs the lines of old music and new by commissioning contemporary works that embrace the creative ethos of past eras. By taking liberties with the written music on the page, every performance is a unique, exciting and joyful experience.

We are thrilled to present an adult evening of not-so-subtle low brow and bawdy humor from the Baroque to modern day. This will be an evening filled with unexpected moments, guest appearances and will be a memorable experience! Be sure to make a reservation well in advance! Capacity is intimate, and seats will fill very quickly.

Location: The Napoleon Room at Club Cafe, 209 Columbus Ave. Boston, MA

Andrew Sheranian (emcee and keyboards), Cristiano Contadin viola da gamba; Emily Siar, soprano Craig Juricka, baritone and Cody Bowers, countertenor with cameo appearances from surprise guests.

Baroque to Modern “low brow” humor- - an all-out, adult evening! We intend to discuss the gossip and scandals as well as the roles that women played in Restoration Comedies. Cocktails, wine and food are available for an additional cost.
